Here's a look at some players that should take priority if you're hoping to pick up some reinforcements from the waiver wire heading into Week 14.
Zonovan Knight, RB, Jets: It may not be as easy to grab him off the wire, but if he's there, you have to get him. The rookie rushed 15 times for 90 yards in just his second game, making it two straight games of more than 100 yards from scrimmage.
Cam Akers, RB, Rams: He hasn't lived up to expectations due to injuries and a slow start to his career. He's had two games of double-digit carries and at least 60 rushing yards in two of the last three weeks and even scored twice Sunday.
Jordan Mason, RB, 49ers: With Elijah Mitchell out for the year, and Christian McCaffrey owning an uneasy injury history, Mason could be a good stash if you can afford it. He rushed for 51 yards on just eight carries in the win over the Dolphins.
Jerick McKinnon, RB, Chiefs: The change of pace back rushed eight times for 51 yards and caught two passes for nine yards and a touchdown in the loss to the Bengals. He has four good matchups coming up and might serve well in the playoffs as a flex.
James Cook, RB, Bills: Cook's had double-digit carries in two of the last three games, rushing for 64 yards in the win over the Patriots. He also caught six passes for 41 yards and had more touches than Devin Singletary.
Michael Gallup, WR, Cowboys: He may have just hit his peak in the win over the Colts as he caught four passes for 23 yards and two scores. He's also had at least four receptions in four of the last five games. The possible addition of Odell Beckham Jr. may be a negative factor.
Jared Goff, QB, Lions: With both Lamar Jackson and Jimmy Garoppolo going down with injury, Goff could be a key pickup if he can continue to produce well. He's thrown at least two touchdowns in his last two games and tossed for 340 yards against the Jaguars.
D.J. Chark, WR, Lions: Chark notched season highs against his former team Sunday, catching five passes for 98 yards. The Lions aren't looking so bad these days and have a big matchup with the Vikings coming up.
Corey Davis, WR, Jets: Mike White has shown that he's better than Zach Wilson at supporting wideouts for fantasy purposes. He targeted Davis 10 times with the receiver coming up with five catches for 85 yards.
Brock Purdy, QB, 49ers: The rookie completed 25 of 32 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns in relief of Jimmy Garoppolo. Purdy will either finish the year as the starter, or the 49ers might bring in help. It wasn't a bad debut for Mr. Irrelevant.
Mike White, QB, Jets: He threw for 369 yards and even though he didn't throw a touchdown with two picks, he still managed to score on the ground Sunday against the Vikings. The week before he had three touchdown passes.
Raiders Defense and Special Teams: They get to face the decimated Rams in Week 14.
