NFL Power Rankings ... and Sour Rankings Through Week 14

You've seen NFL power rankings before, but here at gatosclub we're also interested in the bottom of the barrel. As far as power rankings go, we're looking at what teams have done on the field, with a bit of an eye toward the future. We're also going to include our Sour Rankings, though, which will look at the teams that have had the worst performances and poor prospects.

So without further ado, here's a look at our NFL Power Rankings, featuring the best eight teams following Week 14. And the Sour Rankings, featuring the worst eight squads the league has to offer.

Power Rankings

1. Philadelphia Eagles -- The Eagles keep rolling this week, defeating a somewhat fraudulent Giants team 48-22. They'll take on the 3-10 Bears next and should stay atop these rankings through the rest of the season if they don't fall apart.

2. Kansas City Chiefs -- The Chiefs bounced back after the loss to the Bengals, with Patrick Mahomes looking special once again in the win against the Broncos. They should dominate the Texans next.

3. Buffalo Bills -- They got past a tough Jets defense, utilizing a strong defensive performance of their own to improve to 10-3 before facing the Dolphins once again. They could avenge another loss as the Dolphins seem to be struggling.

4. Dallas Cowboys -- The Cowboys played another subpar team close before coming away with a win as they topped the Texans 27-23. Dallas beat a Houston team that had a first-and-goal with a three-point lead with less than six minutes to play.

5. Cincinnati Bengals -- The Bengals made it five wins in a row with a two-touchdown win over the Browns. Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase are hooking up well and the defense is playing well.

6. San Francisco 49ers -- The defense and a strong offensive game by rookie Brock Purdy helped the Niners jump two spots in our rankings. Christian McCaffrey did his thing as Purdy accounted for three touchdowns.

7. Minnesota Vikings -- Last week I mentioned that Minnesota has some holes that are becoming apparent. They fell to the Lions in Week 14 but should bounce back against the Colts.

8. Miami Dolphins -- The Dolphins have lost two in a row and Tua Tagovailoa looked his worst as a starter, completing just 10 of 28 passes. Whether the Chargers found a blueprint to stop Tua is yet to be seen.

Sour Rankings

25. Arizona Cardinals -- The Cardinals belong in the Sour Rankings. They fell to the Patriots on Monday night and just lost Kyler Murray for the season. It's not looking good for Kliff Kingsbury.

26. Pittsburgh Steelers -- Pittsburgh couldn't take advantage of a shorthanded Ravens team and fell to 5-8.

27. New Orleans Saints -- The Saints were on bye and face the Falcons next in what could be a winnable game.

28. Indianapolis Colts -- They were off last week and have to face a Vikings team ready to get back in the win column.

29. Los Angeles Rams -- The Rams took a surprising win over the Raiders with Baker Mayfield at the helm. More of an indictment of Las Vegas, but good for Mayfield.

30. Chicago Bears -- They're coming off a bye to face the Eagles, and I don't expect the extra week of preparation to help them.

31. Denver Broncos -- The Broncos played the Chiefs close but only after falling down big early. Mahomes and the defense held off the late effort.

32. Houston Texans -- The 1-11-1 Texans fell for the eighth straight time as they faced a tough Cowboys team that rallied late.
